One command one tree at a time! A Planet
We are particularly proud of our partnership with Onetreeplanted.org: with your support, we help nature and cleanse the air we breathe.. Trees help filter the water we drink and provide habitat for over 80 percent of global terrestrial biodiversity. For every product you buy from us, a tree will be planted. It helps to support poor small-scale farmers and revitalises degraded land. Thanks to people like you, over 40 million trees have already been planted in over 43 countries worldwide since 2014, and the number increases daily!
We have planted 209 trees!
Our green mission
We knew from day one that we wanted to support nature and help it survive. For this reason, we are working to maintain sustainable standards and organic production and, together with One Tree Planted, to ensure that our entire production process remains ecological and sustainable and, at the same time, to give back to nature.
THE ADVANTAGES OF TREE PLANTING TO OUR PLANET
What’s with the trees?
Trees help purify the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to more than 80% of global terrestrial biodiversity. Over 1.6 billion people work in forests, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere and are key ingredients in 25 percent of all medicines. Have you ever done aspirin? This is from the bark of a tree!
Trees help purify the air we breath. Its leaves and bark absorb harmful pollutants and release clean oxygen, which helps us breathe better and have cleaner air. In urban areas, trees absorb pollutants such as nitrogen oxides, ozone and carbon monoxide, and sweep away particles such as dust and smoke. Rising levels of carbon dioxide caused by deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels trap heat in the atmosphere. Healthy, strong trees serve as carbon sinks, reducing the impacts of climate change and offsetting carbon.
Trees help capture rainwater and reduce the risk of natural disasters such as landslides and floods. Its roots act as filters, slowing the absorption of water in the soil and removing contaminants. This helps prevent harmful erosion by water slides and reduces the risk of flooding. A mature evergreen tree can receive more than 15,000 litres of water annually, according to the Food and Agriculture Association of the United Nations.
A single tree can support hundreds of plant, fungal, insect, moss and mammalian species. With no trees, there is no life, experts believe that if we keep going with this rate of deforestation. Experts estimate thatif we maintain this rate of deforestation, millions of plants and animal specieswill die out by 2050.
From lumberjacks to arborists to researchers, there are tremendous job opportunities in the forest industry. However, we don’t just depend on trees for work. Sustainable tree growing provides wood for building shelters and houses, and wood for heating and cooking. Fruit trees provide nuts, fruits, berries and leaves for human and animal consumption, and help us provide many of the nutrition inputs we need.
Scientists have shown that hospital patients with tree views recover faster than patients without the same view. Current research has confirmed that playing outdoors increases health and attention span. Trees help reduce anxiety and stress and enable us to get closer to nature. In addition, the shade caused by tree cover helps protect our skin from the sun’s rays, which are becoming more intense.
Trees contribute to cooling our planet by absorbing and storing harmful greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in their trunks, branches and leaves, freeing up oxygen in the atmosphere. The trees found in our cities help to reduce the ambient temperature up to 8ºC. A mature tree can absorb on average 10 kilograms of carbon dioxide annually, which makes the cities safer and healthier.
